RESTAURANTS: Leighton’s Pub, which closed at the end of December, is reopening as Let It Fly, an Omaha-based sports bar, following renovations expected to last two to three weeks and the debut of a new menu. Marhaba Middle Eastern Cuisine opened just before the New Year at 2701 N. 27th Street, southwest of Cornhusker Highway, in the space originally occupied by Tia Letty’s. Tia Letty’s has since relocated into a former Village Inn building.
OFFICE: Union Bank has begun site work at 4430 State Hill Drive, near 44th and Yankee Hill Road, supported by a building permit valued at $3,227,000.
EDUCATION: Acton Academy, a private school currently operating at 8400 Cody Drive, is proposing new construction at 6701 S. Folsom Road, north of WarHorse Casino, requiring a zoning action for approximately five acres, with a second phase that could introduce five single-family residential lots.
RETAIL: Escape Lincoln, at 815 O Street beneath the Haymarket viaduct, has restored an adjacent event space called The Nook, a rentable venue for up to 50 people featuring vintage-style furnishings and a bookstore, games, and crafts atmosphere where patrons arrange their own food and beverages.
