RESTAURANT: Closed permanently: Delco Dave’s behind the 12th & O Sartor Hamann, and Dickey’s Barbeque Pit next to Lowe’s at 6125 Apple’s Way.

CONVENTION CENTER: One of top three blocks proposed for the new convention center went up for sale for $11.75 million last week.

MEDICAL: Primary Care Physicians has pulled a building permit next to the new Ziggy’s Coffee on the southwest corner of 70th & Pine Lake Road roundabout.

DISTRIBUTION: R U Nuts, the popular local supplier of nuts and coffee products to local grocery stores, pulled a $996,000 permit to expand its warehouse.

CORPORATE: Timpte, who has been constructing a large facility in Lincoln, won a Best Manufacturer of the year award from NE Chamber of Commerce. Based out of David City, it builds trailers for transport. Rotary Clubs of Lincoln honored Hudl in its annual Salute to Business for employing 3,200 workers since 2006, 62% of which work in Lincoln.

LEGISLATIVE: The new Sick Leave amendment passed this week. There is NO minimum company size for the requirement to offer 5+ sick days per year. What if there are 20 employees, and #19 and #20 are a husband and wife that own the company, which forces them into the category required to offer more vacation? Ansley Fellers from the Nebraska Grocers Association predicts that terminology clarification language will be brought to the State Legislature as early as this spring.
