RESTAURANTS: The following are permanently closed: Breakfast Unhinged and Pinoy Style Filipino American Cuisine at 1601 Q , both of which opened in 2025; Rock’N’Joe Coffee Bar at 5025 Lindberg Lane in southeast Lincoln and had been in that location for a number of years; and Let It Fly Sportsbar in University Place, which opened earlier this year. Abelardos has completed its construction at 8430 Eiger Drive and opened last week.
WAREHOUSE – At 1717 Center Park Road, Schneider Electric has pulled a $9 million building permit for an addition. The Department of Energy recently awarded the global company for developing an HVAC electrification project to help the local plant recover and process wasted heat.
EDUCATION: (pictured) Southeast Community College is holding a groundbreaking ceremony on April 28 for a new 45,250 square foot facility which will complete its campus STEM complex and add capacity for biological sciences education in a new three-story building with offices, classrooms, labs and common spaces. A recent building permit shows $31 million.
NONPROFIT: Cat Connection has opened inside Goodwill Job Connection Center at 1731 O, according to Strictly Business Magazine. Goodwill’s website indicates that it provides a space for adoptable cats to connect with adoptable humans. Job Connection has been at the location for some time and assists clients with resumes, computer skills, interview preparation, and vouchers for career clothing.
